The Christmas countdown has begun, and we're calling out for community support to supply and pack hundreds of hampers for people who are feeling the impacts of poverty and hardship.
People living in crisis accommodation, boarding houses and supportive housing, or sleeping rough, are feeling the impact of the housing and cost-of-living crisis more than most.
For some, Christmas Day can be an even lonelier and uncertain time. You can help change that.
How you can help
A Christmas hamper is more than a meal. It is a reminder that someone cares, that they are not forgotten, and that they are part of our community.
Donate towards the cost of a Christmas hamper and help bring care, comfort and a little joy this Christmas.
Fresh Fruit Hamper = $70
Grocery Hamper = $125
Fresh Fruit and Grocery Hamper = $195
No matter how much you give, your donation can help provide a Christmas hamper to an individual or family doing it tough, delivered on Christmas Eve.

2025 community effort
$36,720.51 raised, 19,974 items collected, more than 600 volunteers, and over 800 hampers delivered! 2025 marked 30 years of Micah Projects and showed the strength of our shared efforts.
Every year we are humbled by the kindness and generosity of our community.

2026 donations needed
With so many people feeling the impacts of poverty and homelessness, we have the ambitious goal of raising $50,000 this year. This will go towards fresh fruit hampers and the extra stock that we buy so that hundreds of hampers have the full range of essential and festive items.
What about donating pantry items?
We will still be needing your champion efforts to gather and drop off pantry items for our hampers and will be accepting these between 23 November and 11 December, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm at 162 Boundary Street, West End.
See a full list of hamper inclusions below if you'd like to start collecting now.
Download our poster to share with your school, workplace or community group.
When can I sign up as a volunteer?
We love the community enthusiasm for our big hamper packing day on Christmas Eve. Volunteer registrations will be opening in November. Please stay tuned to our latest news, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and monthly newsletter (scroll down to subscribe).
How do I give corporate or group donations?
If you'd like to contribute larger group donations or talk about corporate sponsorship for hampers, please email our team directly: donations@micahprojects.org.au.
