Each year, communities across Australia come together during NAIDOC Week to celebrate and honour the rich history, cultures, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC Week is an opportunity for everyone to learn about First Nations histories and cultures, recognise the strength and resilience of the world's oldest continuing living cultures, and connect with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities through events and celebrations.
NAIDOC Week is also a time to listen and learn from First Nations peoples as they share their cultural heritage, lived experiences, achievements, and aspirations for the future.
At Micah Projects we are committed to walking alongside First Nations people, communities, and organisations. Through listening, collaborating and amplifying First Nations voices, we continue to work towards meaningful lasting change and justice.
We encourage people to take this opportunity to engage, learn, and celebrate by attending local NAIODC Week events in your community. Micah Projects is proud to be part of the following events celebrating First Nations art, culture, food, language, history, and community. We look forward to connecting with you there.
Musgrave Family Fun Day
Join us at the Annual Musgrave Park Family Fun Day for a day of culture, connection, and learning. Enjoy live entertainment, delicious food, and explore First Nations market stalls, artists, and cultural experiences.
Be sure to visit the Micah Projects Women, Children and Families team, who will be hosting a fun and creative space with craft activities for children and families. We'd love to see you there!
