The Every Child, Every Woman: Healthy and Safe Start program

Publication 'Every Child, Every Woman: Healthy and Safe Start' Program Evaluation Final Report

The Every Child, Every Woman: Healthy and Safe Start program is an integrated response and support program (HSS program) for vulnerable and high-risk pregnant women, birthing people and their families tailored to individual needs, which started in early 2023. The program was developed in response to the growing number of women presenting to both homelessness and domestic violence services who were pregnant and/or cared for young children. The University of Queensland conducted the evaluation of the HSS program between August 2024 and February 2025. Their report provides insights into the families who accessed the HSS Program, key features that supported positive outcomes, and areas of limitations.
