Australian Social Inclusion Board (ASIB) 2010 annual report and research papers

Key research findings show that:

  • The way you treat people matters
  • Services for the most disadvantaged must continue over a long period of time, and be collaborative and holistic
  • Place-based initiatives which develop local communities, people and infrastructure can be the most effective strategy in disadvantaged locations.

The Federal Government has asked the ASIB to continue its focus in 2011 on jobless families, as well as looking at service delivery reform and the measurement and reporting of social inclusion indicators, amongst other issues.
